Lumina PDRN Brightening Serum

PDRN and hexapeptide-8, in a weightless base that disappears on contact.

$44.00 / 1 fl oz / 30 ml
Korean aesthetic medicine has used polydeoxyribonucleotide for two decades. This is that active in a leave-on serum, paired with acetyl hexapeptide-8 — and the finding that earns it the price is persistence: measured hydration improvement held for two weeks after people stopped applying it. Surface humectants do not behave that way.

Every formulation carries a certificate of analysis, published in full on our certificates page. Coverage is matched to the product: microbiological profiles on nearly every formulation, heavy-metal limits for arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead on ingestibles — with measured ICP-MS results where quantified — identity by FT-IR where run, physicochemical verification on every topical, and measured potency where an active assay is performed. Each certificate states its own specifications and results.

The Evidence

What the research measured.

PDRN is the most interesting active to reach Western skincare in a decade, and the topical evidence has a signature that separates it from surface hydration.
2wk

Effect persistence1

What this measured

Hydration improvement maintained for up to two weeks after topical PDRN was discontinued — the signature of changed skin function.

A2A

Receptor pathway2

What this measured

PDRN acts at the adenosine A2A receptor, driving fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis.

2

Actives, two pathways

What this measured

PDRN for regeneration and hydration, acetyl hexapeptide-8 for expression lines.

Mechanism

How it works, at the level that matters.

PDRN acts principally at the adenosine A2A receptor. Binding there increases fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis, upregulates vascular endothelial growth factor to support microvascular perfusion, and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine expression.
There is a second mechanism, and it is elegantly simple. As PDRN breaks down, the nucleotides it releases are taken up directly by cells through the salvage pathway and reused for DNA synthesis. Tissue under repair demand gets handed the raw material instead of having to build it from scratch. Repair is metabolically expensive; PDRN reduces the bill.
Acetyl hexapeptide-8 works a completely different route, moderating the neurotransmitter signaling behind repeated muscular expression — the mechanism underneath expression lines. Sodium hyaluronate and sodium PCA handle water, panthenol supports the barrier, and the whole thing sits in a propanediol base light enough to disappear.

The Formulation Story

Why we made
this one.

PDRN arrived in Western skincare on the back of its reputation in Korean clinics, and most of what followed was marketing well ahead of evidence.
We read what actually exists. It is a smaller file than the vitamin C literature, and one finding in it is genuinely striking: hydration improvement that held for two weeks after subjects stopped applying. That persistence is the tell. A humectant sitting on the stratum corneum washes off. Whatever PDRN did, it changed how the tissue behaves.
So we built it as a serum rather than a cream — weightless, fragrance-free, and stripped of anything that would get in the way. Two actives and the hydration architecture to carry them.

Formulated for

Evening or twice daily, for dullness, uneven tone, early expression lines, or skin recovering from a procedure, a harsh actives routine, or a hard season. Fragrance-free and suitable for compromised barriers. Sits under the Renew Replenishing Moisturizer.

The Formulation

Every active, named.

Every active, named. Consumable doses are printed to the milligram on the label. For topicals, actives are listed in order of concentration — and where a number cannot be independently verified, we do not print one.

Serving size

Two to four pumps, twice daily

1 fl oz / 30 ml

PolydeoxyribonucleotidePDRN

The regenerative active Korean aesthetic medicine has used for two decades, here in a leave-on topical. Derived from purified salmon DNA.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8Peptide

A signal peptide included for its effect on the appearance of expression lines.

Sodium HyaluronateHyaluronic acid

Moisture-binding humectant for deep, lasting hydration.

Sodium PCANatural moisturizing factor

A component of skin's own hydration system, replenished topically.

PanthenolProvitamin B5

Barrier-supporting humectant with documented soothing activity.

PropanediolPlant-derived glycol

A light, fast-absorbing base that leaves no greasy residue.

The Protocol

How to use it, and what to expect.

Consistency is the variable that decides outcomes. Build the habit first; the biology follows on its own schedule.

1

Two to four pumps, on clean skin

Massage over face and neck until fully absorbed. Twice daily suits most people; evening alone is enough if you are cautious.

2

Follow with moisturizer

Layer the Renew Replenishing Moisturizer over it to seal the water phase. During the day, follow with sunscreen instead.

3

Four weeks to hydration

The hydration endpoint reports early. Tone takes longer — melanocyte turnover sets that pace, not the formulation.

Week 1

Comfort improves

Panthenol, sodium PCA and hyaluronate work immediately. Reactive or over-treated skin settles first.

Week 4

Hydration endpoint

The interval at which clinical evaluation of topical PDRN recorded measurable improvement in skin hydration.

Week 8

Tone and clarity

Radiance and evenness build as the regenerative pathway compounds.

After stopping

It holds

Improvement maintained for up to two weeks post-discontinuation — function changed, not just surface coated.

Questions

Before you begin.

No, and anyone claiming otherwise is not being straight with you. Injectable PDRN is delivered directly into the dermis; topical application has to cross the stratum corneum, which is a far less efficient route. What the topical literature supports is measurable hydration improvement with unusual persistence, plus effects on melanogenesis pathways. It is not a substitute for a clinical procedure and we do not present it as one.

Purified DNA fragments, most commonly from salmon roe. That is also why this serum is not vegan, and we would rather say so plainly than leave it off the label. The purification removes protein, which is what an allergic response targets — but if you have a severe fish allergy, speak with your allergist before applying it to your face. That is not a legal hedge; anaphylaxis is not a risk worth taking on a probability.

Yes — different times of day. Vitamin C in the morning at low pH, this in the evening at neutral pH. That way your barrier is not handling an acid load twice.

Unusually so. It is fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and built around panthenol and hydration rather than exfoliation. It is one of the few actives we would put on a barrier that is already struggling. The one exception is a severe fish allergy — see above.
